Stanley Kubrick was an American film director, screenwriter and producer. He was born in New York City, New York, USA on 26th July 1928 and died in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, England, UK on 7th March 1999, aged 70.

His best films as a film director include 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), A Clockwork Orange (1971) and The Shining (1980), and whose best work as a screenwriter include Paths of Glory (1957), 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) and The Shining (1980).
