Film Synopsis
Amélie moves to Paris to live with her Aunt Elisa. It is here that she encounters a young actor named Pierre who takes an instant liking to her. Amélie's apparent sadness intrigues Pierre and she explains what brought it about. For several years, Amélie lived with her uncle, Monsieur Boule, the owner of a hat shop, and her cousins Fanny and Alain. The latter was a romantic who spent his days watching the sea and appearing to talk to it. Fanny was raised by Aunt Elisa and had picked up all her social graces. She told Pierre that Amélie was suffering from a personal crisis. One day, whilst walking by Mont St Michel, Alain discovered that he was in love with Amélie. She loved him in return, but sadly her happiness was not to last...© James Travers
