L'Année des méduses (1984)
Directed by Christopher Frank

Thriller / Drama / Romance

Film Synopsis

As she does every year, Chris is spending her summer holidays in Saint-Tropez with her mother.  Although she is 16, she is no longer an adolescent.  She is aware of her physical beauty and intends to flaunt it for all it worth.  At the same time, she bears the scars of a previous relationship, with Vic, a friend of her parents who gave her no support when, having been made pregnant by him, she had to have an abortion.  At the moment, her sole desire is to seduce a handsome Gigolo named Romain, who is the complete opposite of Vic, an inveterate Don Juan preying on whatever he can find on the beaches.  But Chris is too well protected to be of interest to Romain.  Rather, he finds her mother, Claude, a more enticing prospect.  When she realises this, Chris is consumed with jealousy and sets about orchestrating a perverse game of seduction...
