La Femme spectacle (1964)
Directed by Claude Lelouch

Documentary
aka: Night Women

Film Synopsis

A documentary which denounces a society that reduces women to the level of an object, an instrument of work and of pleasure.  Claude Lelouch's original cut of this film ran to 135 minutes, but cuts made by the censor reduced it to just 50 minutes.  Lelouch disowned this bastardised version of his film and insisted that his name be taken off it when it was released by producer Pierre Braunberger.
