Film Synopsis
In Rome in 1975, the director Claude Lanzmann filmed Benjamin Murmelstein, the last leader of the Jewish ghetto of Theresienstadt. In 1938, after Germany had annexed Austria, Murmelstein began his fight against Adolf Eichmann, and over the next seven years he managed to save 121 thousand Jews from the Holocaust. In 2012, Lanzmann, now 87, returns to Theresienstadt, the model ghetto given by Hitler to the Jews to deceive the world...© James Travers
