Film Synopsis

Paris in the late 1950s.  Janin, a young missionary, chooses to exercise his vocation as a priest in Pigalle, hoping that he may save several young women from a life of prostitution.  Working as a barman, he comes into conflict with Maurice, one of the pimps in the Montmartre area.  He then falls foul of a woman named Josy, who, not knowing that Janin is a priest, falls in love with him.  One day, whilst helping to steer Malou away from her sordid profession, Janin gets into a fight with Maurice and sustains a serious injury.  Josy runs to his aid, unable to control her feelings for the priest.  When Janin repels her, Josy takes her revenge by drawing a young protégée of his into her business...
