Film Synopsis

Alfred is a young Frenchman who has just arrived in New York City to look for Alice, an American girl he met in Paris.  When Alice refuses to have anything to do with him, Alfred is left to roam the unfamiliar metropolis alone.  His situation deteriorates and he ends up a tramp.  On a bench in Central Park, he is assigned an important task by a mobster: to look after his precious pooch.  Alfred sees an opportunity to improve his standing in Alice's eyes, but the dog escapes and Alfred ends up scouring the streets of New York to find it.
