Film Synopsis
In the kingdom of the animals, the Fox has a reputation for playing
practical jokes on everyone. After receiving numerous complaints,
the Lion has the Fox arrested and intends to hang him. In his
audience with the Lion, the Fox earns his freedom by telling him about
a fabulous treasure. Once the deception is exposed, the King
orders the Fox's castle at Malpertuis to be taken from him. Once
again, the Fox manages to save himself. Impressed by the Fox's
cunning, the Lion appoints him his minister.
A wave of fresh talent in the late 1950s, early 1960s brought about a dramatic renaissance in French cinema, placing the auteur at the core of France's 7th art.
