Biography: life and films

Léo Joannon was a French film director, screenwriter and actor whose birth name was Léon Gabriel Paul Joannon. He was born in Aix-en-Provence, Bouches-du-Rhône, France on 21st August 1904 and died in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Hauts-de-Seine, France on 28th March 1969, aged 64.

His best films as a film director include Caprices (1942), Le Carrefour des enfants perdus (1944), L'Homme aux clefs d'or (1956), Le Secret de soeur Angèle (1956) and L'Assassin est dans l'annuaire (1962), and whose best work as a screenwriter include Caprices (1942), Atoll K (1951), L'Homme aux clefs d'or (1956) and Julien Duvivier's Pot-Bouille (1957).
