Max von Sydow is a Swedish actor and film director whose birth name is Max Carl Adolf von Sydow. He was born in Lund, Skåne län, Sweden on 10th April 1929.

His best films as an actor include Ingmar Bergman's The Magician (1958), The Virgin Spring (1960), Hour of the Wolf (1968), Shame (1968) and William Friedkin's thriller The Exorcist (1973).
